Testimonials and Endorsements
"I started personal training with Scott about three years ago to maintain
strength and prevent problems associated with aging. I subsequently
joined a class of wonderful younger women dedicated to staying fit. I
not only have maintained my strength but have increased it while
improving flexibility and balance. I feel very safe working out with
Scott - he considers my age and past injuries while pushing me to reach
my full potential. I also joined Travis Martin's nutrition program, lost
about twelve pounds and learned much about weight loss and keeping it
off. I can highly recommend the programs at Pro Performance.
Staying fit at 65.

"I also, wanted to say thank you to both you and Lisa, for all the help you have given me since boot camp. I love training at your gym and hopefully I can arrange it where I can continue to workout there with you guys. The knowledge you have is amazing and the very tool that I need. Thus far, I have been unable to find that essential ingredient anywhere else, since I started working out and watching my diet in 2001. You guys motivate me so much…it’s really nothing you guys say directly to me, it is the atmosphere that you provide and I sense when I enter your building, it’s what I need. I LOVE IT!!! Thanks."

"11/2/07
Work out, me!!! I thought that was a joke!
I used to work out faithfully four times a week (by myself) in years past but never saw any improvement in my body. Well that all changed when my husband, Mike, introduced me to Pro Performance.
I read the article in the Rome News Tribune about Boot Camp and thought, “What! You have got to be kidding! Those people must be lunatics!” Mike said, “Come on you can do it.” I thought ok, but I knew I couldn’t just jump right in because I haven’t worked out in a while. So I started out with the Basic Training 101 class, then moved into Boot Camp. Well, I have completed three Boot Camps now.
In August 2006, I started doing the X-Vest Walking class and in February 2007 started personal training with Tim Vicchrilli. Since August 2006, I have lost 20 lbs and too many inches to mention.
I know for a fact that I could not have done it without Pro Performance.
So many thanks to Mike for introducing me to Pro Performance, Scott and Lisa Hines for being so competitive, Tim Vicchrilli for pushing me through class, and Travis Martin for the nutritional guidance.
Believe me when I say, “If I can do it, anybody can!” I hope to see you soon at the gym."

"Why Pro-Performance? It's unconventional, it takes your body to the limit, it's in a cool warehouse, and it works!
I needed a customized workout that would build strength and improve my endurance capacity for ultra-trail runs. After a couple of months of brutal one-on-one training sessions with Scott, I joined a 6-person group that meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30am. Scott designs our "killer" 45-minute workouts with a unique rotation of dumbbells, bands, weight machines, and kettlebells. He provides the motivation, music, and drive that our group looks forward to each morning. We've been together for over a year and each of us has lost weight, built muscle mass and gotten "ridiculously" strong. If you really want results and you're willing to sweat, you'll love the experience."

"When did I lose that “girlish” figure? It’s been more years than I want to admit. Even though I’d been consistent with running and weight lifting for 15 years, the extra pounds never would come off. My motto used to be “I run/exercise so that I can eat.” That meant, in my mind, that I could eat whatever I wanted as long as I kept running and lifting weights everyday. It wasn’t working. I realized that in order for my body to change my motto needed to change.
So, in January of 2007, I signed up for group training with Scott Hines. That was the beginning of becoming educated on the right way to train. Scott’s Tuesday and Thursday morning workouts are brutal, but they’re paying off. I’m getting stronger than I ever imagined, with the help of the dreaded kettle bells, bag pushes, pull ups, and hundreds of swing thrus. Nine months later, the results are evidence that Scott knows what he’s talking about. With Scott working my muscles and Travis Martin giving advice on how to eat (and, no, I can’t eat whatever I want, if I want to lose fat), my body has drastically changed. I’m on the right track and feel and look better than I have in 15 years. The weight is coming off, and the muscles are becoming more defined.
Thank you, Scott and Travis! Now, bring me a 30 pound kettle bell and some egg whites."

"I have always 'eaten' well. In other words, I have eaten whole grains, lean meats, vegetables and fruits, and not a lot of sugar and have felt that I have always made good choices. But I have never gotten the last 15 pounds or so that I had gained since I married 18 years ago. I have always struggled with my weight and have worked hard to maintain, but after bearing children, I could not get the rest of the weight off.
I have always eaten less protein because I figured that the protein carried more calories so I was better off to leave it off when possible. But not so with this plan. I am eating lots of protein and still losing weight.
When I started the program my husband and my son (13) decided to do it with me. I have lost 16 pounds, my husband has lost 30 and my son, 20 pounds. We all feel great and tell everyone we know about this program. It is wonderful!!"

"The Pro Performance Team and their specialized training programs have helped my family achieve its fitness goals.
My husband and I have implemented various weight training and diet programs into our lifestyle for the past ten years. We never saw the results we were looking for. We wanted to build lean muscle.
Scott, Lisa, Tim, and Travis, with their knowledge and passion, helped us get results. They customized an effective fitness program combining strength training and the “Philadelphia Fit” nutrition plan. Within a few weeks we saw results! My husband has lost 30 pounds and I have lost 16 pounds. We are leaner ad stronger. We continue to be challenged and are excited about our future achievements with Pro Performance!"

"I have known Scott for over nine years. I believe that our success as a football team can be attributed to the weight and conditioning program Scott started in 1994 at Rome High School. His programs have always been based on sound fundamentals, the latest research and technology. He continues to be a great resource for our program and I highly recommend him, to help you reach your optimal level of performance."

"Coach Hines was a crucial part of my coaching staff at Clemson University. As our strength coach, Coach Hines developed personalized strength programs for the likes of Sammie Henson (2x Undefeated NCAA Champion and World Champion/Olympic Silver Medalist)and the rest of the Clemson team. Our teams had a record high 7th place and a 13th place at the NCAA's, while Coach Hines was our strength coach. Our team and myself owe a lot to coach Hines for his training insights and motivation to succeed."
-Gil Sanchez, Former NCAA All-American, USA Wrestling Team member and collegiate coach.

Scott excels at a complete understanding in the development of both team & individual athletic training. I have seen personally his gift of personal training an individual to reach maximum performance. He is relentless with helping develop the athlete to be all they could be in every aspect of life."

"In 1993, when I transferred to Clemson University, I met Scott Hines. He was the head strength coach for the wrestling team. With his knowledge of strength as it relates to wrestling, I became the 1993 NCAA Division I National Champion. I truly believe that the year around wrestling specific program administered by Scott, had a profound and positive impact on my ability to become a National Champion. Thanks Scott!"
-Sammie Henson 2 x NCAA Division I Champion ( Clemson University), World Champion, Olympic Silver Medalists
"I started my exercise program at Pro Performance in the Spring of 2005, participating in the “6 Weeks to Summer” Boot Camp. I started Group Training, continued kickboxing and running the week immediately following the first Boot Camp. I was astonished at the results, and I signed up for the second Boot Camp, “Fall Into Fitness”! After the second Boot Camp, I decided to take a one-week break before starting Group Training. However, one week became three weeks. During this break, I had a significant decrease in energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, sleep and metabolism. Prior to that, I had felt better mentally and physically than I had ever felt.
At the beginning of the fourth week, I realized that I had worked so hard to achieve those health and fitness benefits only to regress in the process. I considered this to be an act of irresponsibility, lack of discipline and loss of commitment. I returned to Group Training that Wednesday morning only to realize after the first session that my body felt the same way it did during my first week of “6 Weeks to Summer” Boot Camp…you remember how that felt! That is a feeling that I never want to or will put myself in a position to experience again.
It was at my request to share this to encourage others to maintain and further progress their fitness levels and goals. While I saw it as a struggle in the beginning, the time and diligence guided me to a new perspective on exercise. Exercise is a continuum. We cannot expect results overnight. Sometimes we can sabotage ourselves by being unrealistic about our expectations of exercise, therefore designating exercise at the bottom of our priority list. We can expect to take small steps every day. Make exercise a priority and it will become a normal part of your day. I have an awesome feeling associated with finishing a workout, but I become troubled when I miss a workout. My entire day is significantly better when I exercise.
Sometimes travel, illness and/or important personal matters throw us off track and force a break. No matter what set-backs come, keep at it and always move forward! Reward yourself for a job well done. Be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished thus far.
Pro Performance promotes an integrated program that includes the five components of optimal health (strength training, weight management, cardiovascular exercise, nutrition and flexibility training). They understand our fitness goals and help us achieve them. The personal trainers at Pro Performance have been a substantial source of motivation and encouragement. They have helped me to set realistic goals, fit exercise into my busy schedule, and make the most out of my time at Pro Performance safely and effectively. They have provided me with structure, accountability, helped me develop a lifestyle that encourages health, and inspired me to change other areas of my life.
If you are serious about your health and well-being, continue with an exercise program, and you will benefit in all these ways. I challenge you to continue to progress your fitness levels and goals by signing up for group training, personal training, aerobic kickboxing and/or pilates. Stay motivated by constantly reminding yourself that a valuable pay-off lies ahead; a new, healthy, strong you is emerging. Effective, consistent exercise will not only improve your overall health and fitness, but will also improve your appearance, energy level, and social interactions. Also, look forward to the many psychological benefits as well: confidence, self-esteem, and relief from depression, anxiety and stress."

"I began working out with Pro-Performance in May 2006. Since then I've participated in kettle bell classes, x-vest walking, kick boxing classes and boot camp. While I have noticed a physical change in my appearance, I would say that the biggest change in my life has been both mentally and spiritually. I'm a happier person when I'm working out. There is nothing better than kickboxing to relieve stress; kettle bell classes and x-vest walking during your lunch hour is a great way to break up the workday; what an accomplishment to survive 6 weeks of boot camp (especially at my age)!!!
Thanks Pro-performance!"
