What is a kettlebell?
A kettlebell is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. The ultimate tool for all-around fitness.
Why train with kettlebells?
Because they deliver all-around fitness. No single tool does it better! Kettlebells melt fat without aerobics. If you need muscle, you will gain it. The Russia kettlebell is a powerful tool for fixing your body composition. Kettlebell training is highly addictive. What other piece of equipment can boast that it's owners name it? Paint it! Am I kettlebell material?
Yes! Kettlebell training is extreme, but not elitist. Man or woman, if you want to get into the best shape of your life, hack of fat, build mental toughness and have a better quality of life, kettlebell training is for you.
How do I learn to use kettlebells?
You can learn from books and DVD's, but to assure you have proper technique, seek out an RKC certified instructor. Kettlebell technique can be learned in one or two sessions and intense training can start the 1st or 2nd week.
What is the right kettlebell size for me?
Kettlebells come in “poods”. A pood is an old Russian measure of weight, which equals 16kg, or roughly 35 lbs. An average man should start with a 35- pounder. It doesn't sound like a lot, but believe it; it feels a lot heavier than it should! Most men will eventually progress to a 53-pounder. A few men will progress to the 70-pounder and a very few, lets say extremists use the 88-pounder.
An average woman should start with an 18-pounder. A strong woman can work with a 26-pounder. Some women will advance to a 35-pounder. A very few women will progress beyond that.
